Scope
The purpose of the grants business modeling effort is to understand the current state of the business processes that support grants process and to provide a framework for reaching a NIH-desired future state.
Expected Value
- Promotes understanding of current business processes and the roadmap needed to reach the intended future state business processes
- Provides ability to analyze whether IT is properly aligned with the business processes.
- Provides metrics for process improvement initiatives.
- Promotes common understanding of business processes.
- Facilitates planning for future systems development.
2007 4th Quarter
- Validate "Future State" business process models with subject matter experts.
2008 1st Quarter
- Continue validation of "Future State" business process models with subject matter experts.
2008 2nd Quarter
- Communicate the results of the business process model effort.
- Obtain approval for "Future State" business process models.
- Post the approved "Future State" business process models to the NIH Enterprise Architecture website.
