Scope
The definition of Metadata Management strategy includes the activities that outline the effective management of standards, integration of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) metadata with Enterprise Conceptual Data Modeling (CDM) metadata and governance. This will be provided at a high level overview of the components that will be required for metadata management and a description of initiatives required to implement those components.
Expected Value
Focusing on those metadata approaches that identify, catalogue and manage different classes of metadata is critical to ensure that data/information is accessed easily. By providing a uniform approach to accessing and abstracting data so that is easier to understand and use and finding mechanism to deliver it to various consuming applications when required.
